About Ray Langan
Helping teens raise their game.Helping parents breathe again.

Hi, I’m Ray — and if you’re here, chances are you’re doing your absolute best to support a teenager who learns differently, thinks differently, or just seems to be struggling more than others their age.
Maybe your teen has ADHD or dyslexia or dyspraxia. Maybe they’ve been diagnosed with autism, or you just know that traditional school doesn’t work for them.
Maybe you’re tired of the arguments, the meltdowns, the missed assignments, the constant worry about their future…
Maybe you’re walking on eggshells.
I see you. Over the last 15 years, I’ve worked with over 100,000 students across Ireland, delivering no-BS, high-energy seminars on study skills, motivation, mindset, and mental health. I'm the founder of RAYSE THE GAME, Ireland’s most popular motivational study seminar.
And I also struggled with exams and finding my place in the world.
Why I Do This Work
I worked hard in school — but still didn’t get the grades I wanted.
I panicked during exams. I had no memory techniques, no real study system, and zero understanding of how my brain actually worked. I worked hard but not smart.
I skipped from idea to idea. I was impulsive, frustrated, and always exhausted — constantly wanting to be somewhere else.
I had no executive function, couldn’t stick with one thing, and worried endlessly about my future. I had a bad temper. I beat myself up. And deep down, I believed I just wasn’t smart or good enough.
I always felt out of place.
I spent 10 years training and working as an accountant. I failed my Chartered Accountancy Finals and this took its toll on my mental health. I knew I was in the wrong career, but I felt completely stuck.
Then the 2008 financial crash hit. I lost almost everything. No job. No direction. Nearly bankrupt.
The truth? I was in the wrong career. I’d been given the wrong steer. And it cost me 10 years of my life.
The Turning Point
What I didn’t know then was that I had ADHD (hyperactive/impulsive type). Getting diagnosed didn’t fix me — but it explained me. It gave me the tools to flip the script.
Then came the 2008 financial crash. I was nearly bankrupt, with no job, no direction, and no idea what was next.
Until I got a call from someone who would become my mentor. A few weeks later, I was standing in front of 40 TY students delivering my first ever talk — and something clicked. I realised I could connect with young people in a way that lit them up.
From Burnout to Breakthrough
Since then, I’ve:
- Trained as an NLP practitioner
- Retrained as a psychotherapist
- Graduated with first-class honours
- Created Rayse The Game - the most popular motivational study skills seminar in Irish secondary schools
- Developed the Study Sprint Method™ and WhizGridz™ system
- Helped over 100,000 students in 250+ schools across Ireland
- Mentored thousands of parents to support their neurodiverse teens
My mission?
To stop teens from drifting for a decade like I did — and to spare parents 10 years of torture, worry, and constant battles at home.
What I Do (And Why It Works)
I help teenagers especially those with ADHD, dyslexia, and executive function challenges:
- Build focus, confidence, and ownership over their learning
- Learn how their brain works — and how to work with it
- Develop study skills that stick
And I help parents:
- End the daily school battles
- Reduce anxiety and meltdowns at home
- Finally breathe again
And I do it in a way that’s no-fluff, highly practical, and grounded in lived experience.
What Parents Say
Ray without you or this programme I don’t know how Isobel or us would have got through the school year.
A breath of fresh air and giving order to disorder.
I had a lot of guilt over the break-up with my husband. We had to get my daughter back on track. Then an angel appeared in the form of Ray
Trusted by Parents and Schools
I also work with over 40 schools each year to deliver my Rayse The Game™ motivational study skills seminar, reaching more than 12,000 students annually.
Principals, teachers, and year heads often hear about me through teacher networks — after seeing the real shift in student motivation and energy in their respective schools.
Today's Rayse the Game workshop was a transformative experience for our Junior and Senior students.
Ray's approach to student engagement is truly innovative and effective.
A Little More About Me
I’m a bit of a study nerd. I read a lot of books and research papers for fun. I believe learning should be doable and even a little bit fun — especially when your brain’s wired differently.
I live by the sea in Rush North Co Dublin, walking my dog Lulu, and I am a big Liverpool fan. I also play guitar and drums and the odd time tread the boards with the Rush Dramatic Society.
